I'm guessing there probably is an aerie up there somewhere though I didn't spot it. But I did see a mature bald eagle sitting in the top of a tree about a quarter of a mile down the road.
It hits me that this is some sort of quantum phenomenon: the act of observation inevitably changes the thing observed. Maybe better off without the sign.

Very cute. Now you know. I always looked for eagle nests on the ground. Heh. Heh. Is there actually a nest somewhere "up" there?

I think you are secretly erescting these weird signs surrreptitiously for the image. I think it's island life, just brings out the barminess.
