Skywatch Friday #35

When you live in a scenic place, it's sometimes difficult to resist the temptation to take what I call tourist pictures a/k/a this-is-what-it-looked-like pictures. For me, it usually happens mid-week when I realize I have nada in the hopper for Friday's Skywatch slot and this week was no exception. I was picking blackberries down by Degnen Bay on Wednesday evening when the light started getting good. The camera was handy (as always) so I put it on a rock just inches above the water, triggered the self-timer and here ya go...

I like the way you caught the rocks below the surface in addition to the reflections. As permanent tourists (I love exploring our BC coast), we are entitled to all the shots we can get. I invite you to come see my "coming home" sunset. - Margy

What a marvelous shot! I, too, love the rocks beneath the surface along with the lovely reflections. Superb!

Enjoy your weekend!

Goes without saying it is a wonderful reflection. Always goes without saying I know exactly what you mean. I make a deal now with readers of my blog. They can have the tourist "pretty as a picture postcard" for Skywatch, and I can sneak in the not so pretty in the week.

The reflection is amazing - definitely where the focus of this photo should be.

I like how you mostly see the sky in the reflection. Great shot.

This is not a "tourist" shot...the tourist would have captured more of the sky and less of the water - or equal amounts of both. I love how you minimized the sky and reveal it through the reflection in the calm water instead.
