I had lunch once on the island and loved the ferry ride. Nice photo. Patty and I will be celebrating 53 years of marriage on July 12th. Think of it as a long-term relationship.
I have invited bloggers to offer suggestions on a gift for me to give Patty and the list would not be complete without your ideas.
Hey Benjamin, I have not met Audrey but I've only been here since last September. Gabriola is almost but not quite small enough to know everyone. The year-round population is ~4000 but there are many more here in summer. I don't know the answer to your question about the MV Quinsam...
Hi Julie and thank you for the kind words. 4:05 Ferry is all about what Henri Cartier-Bresson called "the decisive moment". I waited until the ship got into just the right place in the frame.

It's a strange looking ferry - what are those upside down triangular things on the corners?
Is Gabriola small enough so everyone knows everyone? I once met Audrey Thomas, who I think lives there. I met her in Africa. Perhaps you know her?

I do like your images, Snapper, But I guess you know that by now. This one teaches me much about composition and perspective.
