Bike At Brickyard Beach

My daily driver, on old Apollo ten speed that I picked up at GIRO (our local recycling org) for $6 and converted to a fixed gear. I topped her off with a brown Brooks B17, the most comfortable saddle known to man. If you're curious about fixies, you can read about them here or scope some photos at this gallery.

Brickyard Beach is so called because it's on the site of a former brick factory and the beach is littered with pieces of bricks from way back when. It's also the site of the famous Potato Cannon event, the last of which was held this year on Canada Day. In the far distance, that's Mt. Benson hovering over Nanaimo on Vancouver Island.

Hello to The Southerner. Is there a Saturday Bike theme going on in photoblogland? The photoblog I visited after yours was another bike:
http://quincydailyphoto.blogspot.com/2008/09/blue-bike.html
(I visit Quincy because sometimes photos of John Adams sites show up.)
(It's all your fault; one day I followed the Daily City Photoblog links from your site and now I'm checking in on about a dozen every day!

I'm a great fan of the bicycle, you see so much more that way, I have a mountain bike with a very
" girlie" wicker basket on the front, it holds all my camera gear and my little dog "Dorothy" my assistant. I love this shot, the distant mountains are fantastic and there is a real feel of isolation, just the bike and the magnificent scenery. nice perspective.

Hi AnneB, no bike theme that I know of but if you surf the portal, you'll see that the lowly bicycle is a very popular subject worldwide. You'll notice a lot more working bikes (delivery, rickshaw, etc.) in Asia.

Great photo. love the pebbles on the beach!
I'm a brand new photographer - long time photoshopper and I just had a beach trip.
Here are some of my favorites. they are more sunset based but beach, none-the-less. I would love comments and critiques from all of your readers!

Nice wheels! Always a good ssight to see a post with a bike. Bicycling is a great way to get around, perfect for photograph too. I added a rack on my bike to strap my tripod into it.

Nice one today of your bike. All I know is that seat is not large enough for my bum. More power to you.
Using color makes your bike the star in this photo today.

A fine, simple machine - I am afraid I never got on with fixed speed.
I have a page at my Nexus blog called Island Life' so I have been looking around. You have a good eye.

I had a bike post on Saturday too! Not my bike though...

I should use my bike more. I usually walk or take the bus.
