ABC Wednesday > K is for Kerplunk

At the ancient pond
A frog jumps into
The sound of water
                    --Matsuo Basho

Attempting to illustrate the most famous haiku ever written is a tad ambitious (read: silly) but I did it anyway. And speaking of this particular K word, there's also Gabriola's award-winning band, The Kerplunks

ABC HQ is here

That's a lovely shot, and an excellent illustration.

Thank you, on behalf of the Team.

Your photo is a lovely illustration of the haiku. I have a small book called One Hundred Frogs with different poets recreations of the sound. You are on the same wavelength as Alan Ginsberg who actually wrote it as

The old pond
A frog jumped in
Kerplunk!
