They go such beautiful colours in autumn, don't they? We have an ornamental maple, but it's not the Japanese variety and it doesn't turn red. It's variegated and the leaves just shrivel and go brown. It's lovely in the summer though!

Maple leaf! Hooray for Canadians(and Americans;) and for Gabriola Island! The resonate red of this leaf leaves me speechless.
