2CV

You've seen one of these before, but here's a full body shot. It's a Citroen 2CV, one of my all-time favourite automobile designs. To the owner of this maroon and black beauty: If you ever want to sell, Stevie B has my number...

Icon of the French roads, usually driven badly and too fast.

NOw that's a beauty. I love the color too. Just a great little number. Hope you get that call Snap. You and J. would look spiffy tooting down the road in that one.

Funny, I saw at least two of these today. There are quite a few of them in Lancaster, and most of them brightly coloured. I like the design too.

I've never been inside of one, but it is cute!

When first made, Citroen boasted that it was impossible that they overturn, due to their swinging suspension! I had an already ancient 2CV in the late 70's in Paris. It had the doors that opened 'backwards,' i.e. the doorhandle outside was toward the front of the car. One windshield wiper was automatic; the other (passenger's) had to be turned manually; no gas gauge either, so I always had to carry a can of gasoline with me. The car ran fine for over a year (which is about all the time I needed it for) and then finally broke down in front of the Eiffel Tower...where I left it...
