Hiromi's Hands

Hiromi is the organist for one of Gabriola's largest churches. We did the shoot right after Sunday service and there was incredible golden sunlight pouring in the windows behind her. Between the gorgeous light and the wonderful music she was playing, it was tough to concentrate on the photography.

Number 17 in the Musician's Hands series

Leica M3, 50mm Summicron, 1/125s @ f2, Ilford XP2Super

I can hear the sound but wonder what the music was. The light here is very "gods-fingers" like ...

The DoF is entrancing here, Snapper. The complexity of the exposure of the image is highlighted by the absolute simplicity of that band of gold.

I'm with Julie and Jacob. Superb. The DOF is perfect. I can almost hear the music as well.

I confess to having an unoffical hands series due to work at the Blues festival. Have to agree with all the above on the dof. I'm getting very drawn to musicians nails at the moment. Have you noticed how they vary according to each instrument, but always so scrupulously clean.
