Today is Mrs. Snapper's birthday so darlin', this heart's for you.
And no I didn't carve it into the trunk of this arbutus tree. I found it just as you see it on the bluff above Malaspina Galleries.

Well Happy Birthday to Mrs. Snapper. romantic carving. Not you? I wonder who.
I was going to say that looks like the bark of the Pacific Madrone' and I guess it is because it is an Arbutus. MB
Such wonderful bark. Not something I would ever see in Kentucky!
Happy Birthday wishes for Mrs. Snap and a sweet photo for her as well. Arbutus tree. Someone else has posted one and I can't remember who. The bark is so unusual. Lovely light and texture in this one Snap!

B'day greeting Mrs S. Without being too pompous but the colours and textures in this are so luxurious I actually thought it was leather at a glance. For a mono-ist you've nailed this colourful one.
