I'll be right back. I need to go grab a sweater to look at this more closley. For a southerner, I don't know what this is. Fog? Low snow clouds? What ever it's COLD out there and drop dead gorgeous.

Excellent grayscale! Love the light through the heavy clouds. Gives you hope in a way!

The elevation and angle of view makes this interesting. It looks like you are nearly level with the bottom of the clouds. Is that Vancouver Island in the background?

Thanks for your comment today. I horribly overexposed the moon so I tried to make something of what was around it.

Bob, yes I was pretty much dead level with the bottom of the clouds. And yes, that's the snow-blanketed industrial section of Nanaimo (on Vancouver Island) in the background. Thanks for stopping by.

Snapper! I write here about yesterday post. "Thanks" and "congratulations" are the two words I want to say first.

Yesterday photo was a great tribute to a master photographer (and one of my favorite). Great interpretation and a wonderful hope for the new year. Will 2009 be a Paradise Garden?

Thanks for the links to other best photos of the year. I discovered other fantastic photoblogs (Bangkok for example).

It was a real new year award to see my blog! I'm really honored! Ciao! Felice 2009!

(sorry for my crap english;)

This is like looking through a tiny slit, isn't it. The low lying cloud is quite lovely ...

What a beautiful shot! It's eerie and beautiful all at the same time. I love the grey scale. It's got an Ansel Adams look to it.

I love the drama that the B&W conversion gives your photo. Stunning!
