Unfortunately, putting a hand out won't stop it. King Canute (or Knud) tried keeping the sea back in England in Viking times; didn't work.
We've had a lot of very heavy rain but it is not unusual here at this time in the run up to the new year.
I like this shot. And I don`t think I have ever seen an image similar to this before, so for me this is quite unique. Very nice!!
Are you sure you didn't clip this from a Hitchcock movie? It sure has that feel.
And as for the weather, well, as they say, it goes with the territory.
With 10 days of rain, I think you should have held both hands up against the window! Or aren't you good at counting with your fingers?

Reminds me of sitting at the window as a child fingering the raindrops as they zigged and zagged down the glass. Nice photo.
