Portrait of a Clown

She studied in France and performs with the New Old Time Chautauqua circus which was here last week. Onstage, she wore the typical clown's red rubber ball nose. This image was shot from the hip (24mm lens on a Canon 40D) after the show while the troupe was dancing with the audience.

Before even reading, I thought - Marcel Marceau! Weird or what?

She looks like a natural in front of the camera. Great hip shot!

She is exactly what I would imagine a clown to look like out of costume. Excellent photo!

She is actually still in costume here except for the rubber nose. Her head is shaved and that's a clown wig.

She seems to genuinely enjoy her work! Unique for Monochrome meme!

That is just so engaging. Warmth of personality really glows.

Very cute this clown. When I shoot from the hip, all I get are stomach shots.

I am so relieved a make up free clown. Slasher red smiles have are a little scary. Terrific as always, such an animated face.
