I wonder how many Gabriolans and visitors have had a go on these rope swings at Whalebone Beach? Here's yours truly on the ropes almost exactly two years ago
But it looks like they'll be history if the RDN gets it's way and ditto for the sturdy stairs that lead down to the water. Seems a shame to me and a case of over-regulation for no good reason. Maybe they know something I don't but I was on those stairs just a few days ago and rickety they ain't!

I foresee civil unrest if the swings are removed! I'll lay odds they will return one dark night....

I haven't been to Gabriola since they took the rope swings down, but I miss them already... I think every member of my family has had their picture taken on the ropes.
